The Yellowmargin Triggerfish, also known as the Pineapple Triggerfish or Yellowface Triggerfish, is a striking marine fish found in the tropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Scientifically named Pseudobalistes flavimarginatus, it belongs to the Balistidae family and is recognized for its vibrant coloration and distinctive markings.

This triggerfish species is characterized by its deep-bodied shape, powerful jaws, and bold yellow markings around its eyes and along its dorsal and anal fins, contrasting with its overall blue-green or grayish body coloration. Additionally, it often displays intricate patterns and markings that add to its visual appeal.

In the wild, Yellowmargin Triggerfish inhabit coral reefs and rocky areas, where they feed on a varied diet that includes crustaceans, mollusks, and small fish. They are known for their territorial behavior and can be aggressive towards tankmates, particularly smaller or more passive fish species. Therefore, they are best kept in large aquariums with plenty of hiding spots and suitable tankmates that can withstand their assertive nature.

While challenging to keep due to their size and temperament, Yellowmargin Triggerfish are prized by experienced marine aquarists for their striking appearance and unique personality. Providing a well-maintained aquarium with appropriate tankmates and a varied diet can help ensure the health and well-being of these captivating fish.
