The Whitecheek Tang, also known as the Goldring Surgeonfish or Kole Tang, is a popular marine fish species that is native to the Pacific Ocean. As its name suggests, it has a distinctive white patch on its cheek, which contrasts with the deep brown to olive green coloration of its body. The fins of the Whitecheek Tang are outlined in a bright blue color, providing a beautiful accent to its appearance. This species is generally peaceful and can be kept in a reef aquarium with other non-aggressive species. It is an herbivore, and therefore, its diet should consist mainly of marine algae, seaweed, and other plant-based foods. A minimum aquarium size of 75 gallons is recommended to provide ample swimming space for this fish, and it should be provided with plenty of live rock and hiding places to help it feel secure.
