The Greenfish Sea Cucumber, also known as the Greenfish Curryfish or the Sandfish, is a species of sea cucumber found in the tropical Indo-Pacific region. It has a long, cylindrical body that can reach up to 40 centimeters in length, with a soft and slimy texture. Its color can vary from light green to brown or dark green, and it has five rows of tube feet running along its body. Greenfish Sea Cucumbers are detritivores, meaning they feed on organic matter and detritus found on the ocean floor. They play an important role in the ecosystem by helping to recycle nutrients and maintain the health of the coral reef. In an aquarium, Greenfish Sea Cucumbers require pristine water quality and a well-established sand bed with plenty of detritus for them to feed on. They should not be kept with aggressive or predatory fish that may harm or stress them. It is important to avoid exposing them to air as this can cause serious damage to their respiratory system.
