They are a popular aquarium fish due to their striking coloration and active nature. Australian Rainbows can grow up to 4 inches in length and require a spacious aquarium with plenty of swimming room and hiding places. In the wild, they feed on small aquatic insects and crustaceans, and in captivity they will accept a variety of commercial flake and pellet foods as well as live and frozen foods.
