The Nuclear Green Colony Polyp is a stunning addition to any reef aquarium with its vibrant and electric green coloration. These polyps form a colony and create a magnificent display of color that can easily become the centerpiece of your aquarium. The polyps feature bright green centers that are surrounded by a ring of neon green tentacles, creating a beautiful contrast of colors. While not a strong stinger, the Nuclear Green Colony Polyp can be semi-aggressive towards other polyps and corals, so they should be given enough space to thrive without crowding other species. These polyps are relatively easy to maintain and can be a great choice for beginner reef keepers. They require moderate lighting and medium water flow within the aquarium, and regular additions of iodine and other trace elements to the water to maintain their health. The Nuclear Green Colony Polyp is a fast grower and can reproduce easily in the reef aquarium by budding, which can quickly lead to the formation of a stunning colony. These polyps contain symbiotic algae called zooxanthellae, which allows them to obtain a large portion of their nutritional requirements from the light in the aquarium. However, if the lighting is not optimal, they can also be fed micro-plankton or baby brine shrimp to supplement their diet.
