The Coral Catfish, also known as the Blue Catfish, is a small species of catfish that belongs to the Plotosidae family. They are commonly found in coral reefs and rocky areas of the Indo-Pacific region, including the Red Sea and the Great Barrier Reef. Coral Catfish have a unique appearance, with a slender body and a distinctive pattern of black and white stripes. They are nocturnal, and spend their days hiding in crevices and caves, emerging at night to feed on small crustaceans and other invertebrates. In the aquarium, Coral Catfish require a tank with plenty of hiding places, such as rocks and caves, as well as a sandy substrate. They are generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive fish, but may eat small shrimp or other invertebrates. Their diet should consist of a variety of meaty foods, such as frozen or live brine shrimp, bloodworms, and small pieces of fish or shrimp. They can be fed once or twice a day, but should not be overfed as they are prone to obesity.
