The linespot flasher wrasse (Paracheilinus lineopunctatus) is a small and colorful marine fish species belonging to the family Labridae, commonly found in the tropical waters of the Western Pacific Ocean. These fish are commonly kept in reef aquariums due to their striking appearance and active swimming behavior. The male linespot flasher wrasse has a bright blue body with a series of orange-red stripes and spots, with a yellow dorsal fin and long, flowing filaments on the dorsal and anal fins. The female is less colorful and typically has a pale yellow body with faint vertical stripes. Linespot flasher wrasses are typically found in small groups in the wild, and males engage in courtship displays to attract females. In captivity, they require a well-established aquarium with plenty of hiding places, live rock, and a varied diet consisting of small meaty foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and other small crustaceans. They are generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive species of similar size.
