The Melanurus Wrasse, also known as the Hoeven’s Wrasse or the Tail Spot Wrasse, is a beautiful and popular fish among hobbyists. This fish is a member of the Labridae family and is native to the Indo-Pacific region. It has a slender and elongated body with vibrant colors, including a bright green body, red-orange dorsal fin, and a blue-green tail with a black spot on the tip. The Melanurus Wrasse is known for its ability to control the populations of unwanted pests, such as bristle worms and pyramidellid snails. It is generally peaceful with other fish, but may become aggressive towards other wrasses, especially those of the same genus. The Melanurus Wrasse requires a well-established aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and a sandy substrate to burrow in.
