Peacock Gudgeons are a small and colorful species of fish that are native to Australia and New Guinea. They are popular among hobbyists due to their bright colors and peaceful temperament. Peacock Gudgeons are best kept in a species-specific aquarium, as they can be outcompeted for food and harassed by larger or more aggressive fish. A group of 6 or more individuals is recommended to ensure they are comfortable and can form their natural social hierarchy. They prefer a planted aquarium with a fine gravel substrate, and a temperature range of 72-79°F (22-26°C).
