The Red Candy Cap Coral, also known as the Rhodactis sp. Coral, is a type of soft coral that is popular among reef aquarium enthusiasts. It is named for its bright red coloration and the shape of its polyps, which resemble small mushrooms or caps. These corals are relatively easy to care for and can thrive in a variety of lighting and water flow conditions. They can be fed a variety of small meaty foods, such as brine shrimp or mysis shrimp, and will also benefit from regular additions of trace elements and other supplements to the aquarium water. Like all corals, the Red Candy Cap Coral is a photosynthetic organism that relies on light to survive. It also has a symbiotic relationship with zooxanthellae, which are tiny algae that live inside the coral and provide it with energy through photosynthesis.
