The Sleeper Gold Head Goby (Valenciennea strigata) is a popular saltwater aquarium fish that is native to the Indo-Pacific region. It is also known as the Golden Head Sleeper Goby or the Engineer Goby. As its name suggests, this species has a golden-colored head that gradually fades into a pale body. It also has a distinctive dark stripe running down the center of its body. They are generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive species in a reef or community tank. They are known for their burrowing behavior and can help to aerate the substrate in the tank. They are relatively hardy and can tolerate a wide range of water parameters, although they do prefer a sand substrate and plenty of hiding places.
