Spotted Puffer, also known as the Whitespotted Toby or White Spotted Sharpnose Puffer, is a small, attractive species of pufferfish that is commonly kept in saltwater aquariums. It is native to the Indo-Pacific region, from East Africa to Hawaii, and can be found in coral reefs, lagoons, and rocky areas. As its name suggests, the White Spotted Sharpnose Puffer has white spots on its dark brown body, which become more pronounced as the fish matures. It also has a distinctive black stripe on its dorsal fin and a sharp, pointed snout. It can reach a maximum size of around 6 inches (15 cm) in length. Like all pufferfish, the White Spotted Sharpnose Puffer has the ability to inflate itself by swallowing water or air, which makes it more difficult for predators to swallow. However, this should never be induced in captivity as it can cause serious health issues for the fish.
