The Striata Botia Loach, also known as the Zebra Loach or Candystripe Loach, is a freshwater fish species that belongs to the loach family. It is named for its distinctive stripes, which resemble those of a zebra. The Striata Botia Loach is an active fish that requires strong water currents and well-oxygenated water. They are typically found in fast-flowing streams and rivers in their natural habitat. In an aquarium setting, they require similar conditions, so a strong water flow and the use of a powerhead or canister filter is recommended. These loaches are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods, including algae wafers, sinking pellets, and frozen or live foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp. The Striata Botia Loach can grow up to 6 inches in length and can live for several years with proper care. They prefer a rocky aquarium setup with plenty of hiding places such as caves or crevices, and should be kept in groups of at least 5 individuals to ensure they feel comfortable and exhibit natural behaviors.
