The Tahitian Butterflyfish, also known as Teardrop Butterflyfish or Blacklip Butterflyfish, is a small, peaceful marine fish species that belongs to the Chaetodontidae family. It has a distinct oval-shaped body with a black spot on its rear dorsal fin and a teardrop-shaped spot behind its eye. The body is mostly yellow with a black bar across the eyes, and its dorsal, anal, and caudal fins have blue markings. The Tahitian Butterflyfish is commonly found in coral reefs and lagoons in the Pacific Ocean, specifically in French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, and the Pitcairn Islands. It feeds on small invertebrates, zooplankton, and algae. Due to its attractive appearance, it is sometimes kept in saltwater aquariums, but its care requirements can be challenging.
