The Vlamingii Tang, also known as the Vlaming’s Unicornfish, is a species of tang that is native to the waters around Indonesia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea. They have a striking appearance with a bright yellow body and black spots on their dorsal and anal fins, as well as a blue face and blue highlights on their fins. They can grow up to 16 inches in length and require a large aquarium with plenty of swimming room and hiding places. They are herbivorous and should be fed a diet that consists mainly of marine algae and other vegetable matter. They can be aggressive towards other tangs and should be kept with other fish of similar size and temperament. In the wild, Vlamingii Tangs are known to be associated with coral reefs and are often seen in small groups. They are considered to be a relatively hardy species, but should only be kept by experienced aquarium hobbyists due to their size and temperament.
