The Yellow Cardinalfish, also known as the Golden Cardinalfish or Yellow Apogon, is a small, brightly colored fish belonging to the family Apogonidae. It is found in the western Atlantic Ocean, from North Carolina to Brazil, as well as in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. The Yellow Cardinalfish has a bright yellow body with five or six vertical white stripes running down its sides. Its eyes are large and dark, and its fins are also yellow. It typically grows to a maximum length of around 3 inches (7.5 cm) and is a popular choice for smaller saltwater aquariums. In the wild, it inhabits shallow reefs and seagrass beds and feeds on small crustaceans and planktonic organisms.
