The Yellowfin Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus flavianalis) is a species of marine fish in the family Labridae, commonly found in the western Pacific Ocean, particularly in the waters surrounding Indonesia and the Philippines. As its name suggests, this wrasse species has a bright yellow-colored body and a thin, elongated shape with a pointed snout. The male has an elongated dorsal fin with a series of dark blue bands and a black spot on the rear portion of the fin. The female has a more subdued coloration with a white belly and fewer markings on the dorsal fin. Yellowfin Flasher Wrasses are commonly found in coral reefs and rocky areas with strong water movement. They feed on small invertebrates, plankton, and fish eggs. In the aquarium trade, the Yellowfin Flasher Wrasse is a popular species due to its vibrant coloration and active swimming behavior. However, they are considered challenging to keep in captivity and require a well-established and properly maintained aquarium with ample swimming space, live rock, and hiding places. They also require a varied diet that includes live or frozen foods to maintain their health and coloration.
