The Marine Betta (Calloplesiops altivelis) is a beautiful and popular fish among saltwater aquarium enthusiasts. This fish is also known as Comet, Marine Betta Comet, and simply as a Comet Betta. It is native to the Indo-Pacific region and is commonly found in the coral reefs and lagoons. The Marine Betta has a distinctive appearance with a jet-black body, white or blueish-white speckles on its dorsal fin, and a striking yellow head. In the wild, Marine Bettas are carnivorous and feed on small crustaceans and fish. In captivity, they should be fed a varied diet consisting of frozen or live meaty foods such as krill, mysis shrimp, and small pieces of fish. They can be trained to eat pellets, but this should not be their sole source of nutrition. It is important to not overfeed them as they are prone to becoming overweight and developing health issues.
