Mono Argentus, also known as the Mono or Fingerfish, is a popular fish in the aquarium trade. It is a silver-colored, elongated fish with a compressed body and a pointed head. It has a single dorsal fin, a small anal fin, and a forked tail. Mono Argentus is a schooling fish, and should be kept in groups of at least six individuals. In the wild, Mono Argentus inhabits freshwater rivers and estuaries, but can also tolerate brackish water. In the aquarium, they prefer a well-planted tank with plenty of open swimming space. They are peaceful fish and can be kept with other non-aggressive species. Mono Argentus is an omnivore and will eat a variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, and frozen or live foods. It is important to provide a varied diet to ensure their nutritional needs are met. Proper water conditions, including a pH of 6.5-7.5 and a temperature range of 72-82°F, should also be maintained to keep the fish healthy.
