The Pearly Wrasse (Halichoeres margaritaceus) is a small and colorful marine fish belonging to the family Labridae, found in the western Atlantic Ocean. It is also known by other common names such as the Pearly Razorfish, Bridled Wrasse, and Yellowhead Wrasse. Pearly Wrasses have a relatively small body that can grow up to 5 inches in length. They are generally characterized by a pearlescent appearance, with a blue-green base color and numerous small white spots. The head and anterior part of the body are yellow, and the posterior part of the body and tail are darker with a bluish-black color. The Pearly Wrasse also has two dark lines that run along the upper and lower parts of its body. These fish are found in shallow reefs and rocky areas, where they feed on small invertebrates such as crustaceans and small fish. Pearly Wrasses are generally peaceful and can be kept in a reef aquarium with other non-aggressive fish species. They require a well-oxygenated and well-filtered tank with plenty of hiding places.
