Rotala Nanjenshan, also known as Nanjenshan Rotala or simply Rotala sp., is a popular stem plant in the aquarium hobby. It is native to Taiwan and has thin, delicate stems with small, light green leaves that are slightly pointed. When grown under high lighting and nutrient conditions, Rotala Nanjenshan can develop a pinkish hue at the tips of the leaves. This plant is relatively easy to care for and can thrive in a range of aquarium conditions. It prefers moderate to high lighting and benefits from regular fertilization with iron and other micronutrients. CO2 injection is not necessary but can help promote faster growth and more vibrant colors. Propagation of Rotala Nanjenshan is straightforward, as it will readily send out side shoots and can be easily trimmed and replanted. It can be used as a background or midground plant in aquascapes and is often paired with other stem plants for a lush, vibrant look.
