Spiralis is a type of aquatic plant commonly known as Cryptocoryne spiralis or simply C. spiralis. It is a popular plant in the aquarium hobby due to its unique spiraling leaves that can reach up to 30 inches in height under optimal conditions. The leaves of this plant are green in color and have a slightly twisted appearance, giving it a distinctive look. Spiralis is a relatively easy plant to care for and can be planted in the mid to background of the aquarium. It prefers a moderate level of lighting and will grow best with 2 to 3 watts per gallon of full spectrum light (5000-7000K). The plant also benefits from regular fertilization with iron-rich supplements and trace elements. Propagation of Spiralis can be achieved through runners that develop from the mother plant or by dividing the rhizome of an established plant. It is important to provide adequate space between individual plants to allow for proper growth and to avoid overcrowding. With proper care, Spiralis can be a beautiful and unique addition to any aquarium.
