The Splendid Pintail Fairy Wrasse, scientific name Cirrhilabrus splendidus, is a small and colorful marine fish found in the Indo-Pacific region, including areas such as Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. It is a popular species among aquarium hobbyists due to its striking coloration and active personality. The male Splendid Pintail Fairy Wrasse has a predominantly bright red or orange body with blue and green highlights, while the female has a more subdued pink or yellow body with purple and blue highlights. Both sexes have elongated fins, with the male’s dorsal fin being particularly elongated and pointed. In the wild, the Splendid Pintail Fairy Wrasse inhabits coral reefs and rocky areas, where it feeds on small crustaceans and other invertebrates. In captivity, it requires a varied diet of frozen and live foods, as well as a well-established aquarium with plenty of hiding places and open swimming areas.
